Called to the Bar in 1992. In practice at Nine Chambers, Manchester, for more than 30 years.

Judicial experience
Sat as a coroner for about ten years, in Preston and West Lancashire and then in Bradford. I no longer sit.
I was a barrister long before I was a surgeon. Orthopaedic evidence was at the heart of my cases, and at 30 I went back to university to study medicine.
